The British Columbia Association of Teachers of Modern Languages (BCATML) is one of the many Provincial Specialist Associations of the BC Teachers' Federation (BCTF).
The objectives of the BCATML shall be:
The BCATML Executive Committee is composed of dedicated and passionate teachers from around British Columbia. The Executive Committee is composed of the Table Officers: Past-President, President, Vice-President, Secretary/Membership, Treasurer and the Language Representatives for French, German, Japanese, Mandarin, Other Languages, Punjabi, Spanish, and the Elementary-Middle Years. There is also the role of Web Manager with BCATML's Executive Committee. All of these positions are for a one-year term with the option to be re-elected during the Annual General Meeting at the annual fall conference (with the exception of the role of Past-President, which is for a term of one year). - to promote and advance the teaching of modern languages throughout the province;
- to communicate to members information related to modern language acquisition;
- to furnish recommendations and advice to the BCTF Executive Committee and other committees of the BCTF on matters affecting language teaching and language teachers; and
- to establish and maintain contact with other modern language associations.
